Charlotte Rhead Bursley Ware Vase – 326 Winter Time Pattern c.1921
A scarce example of Charlotte Rhead’s Winter Time pattern (#326) for Wood & Sons / Bursley Ware, dating from the early 1920s.
It features a hand-painted border design of three robins in a snow scene, above a vibrant orange ground. The base has the Bursley Ware stamp, but no pattern number. Bernard Bumpus describes this pattern as being printed, but it is in fact hand-decorated.
The vase measures approx. 14cm high, with a width of 9cm at the widest point.
Good overall condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor enamel loss in places.
