Pair of Charlotte Rhead Bursley Ware Vases – 649 Arabian Pattern

An exceptional pair of vases, in the 649 Arabian pattern, designed by Charlotte Rhead for Wood & Sons / Bursley Ware, dating from the early to mid 1920s.

These bottle vases are varations on the 471 pattern, which were identical except with a white ground rather than a gold one. They feature stylised flowers and leaves in an Eastern manner. The vases measure approx. 27cm high, with a width of 11.5cm at the widest point. The Bursley Ware stamp and the pattern number can be found on the base, along with the decorator’s mark for Nellie Morris.

Very good condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing.
